When drinking, it has the sweetness of fruit milk or cream, barley umami, ginger, a viscous and soft sweetness, richness, a strong peat and smoke in the middle, tar, rich, with a slight bitterness in the aftertaste. 【Very Good】 The new release Glen Scotia, official 10 year old, heavily peated. It commemorates the 100th anniversary of Campbeltown Picture House, an old cinema. The label has a sense of luxury and sophistication, looking quite cool. Regarding the essential content, it greatly defies expectations from the first impression in a good way, surprising me. With a strong aroma, it immediately presents a diverse array of fruits and cream reminiscent of fruit cake, barley, and vanilla. The strong peat typical of heavily peated whisky is present but the fruits take precedence. When drinking, it has a textured mouthfeel with a rich, sweet flavor reminiscent of fruit cake or fruit milk. From the latter half to the finish, there's a slight bitter nuance, but this is the part that feels most Scottish to me and isn't a negative point. The drinking experience is very good, and I think it's an excellent new release. This creamy fruit cake-like nuance is particularly reminiscent of the fruity Glen Turret, especially from 1977. However, feeling this nuance in a Scottish whisky is my first time. Furthermore, a malt with this nuance accompanied by peat is something I haven't experienced before, making it very impressive. Such a meticulously crafted commemorative bottle with excellent content and label, yet the circulation price is under 10,000 yen. In my perception, it's exceptionally cost-effective.
