1970s Circulation
The aroma has a pleasant old character, with wilted orange, faint peach and persimmon, old black tea, gentle barley, an ancient woody scent like antique furniture, and deep old peat from the background.
When drinking, it has a smooth and gentle mouthfeel, refined orange marmalade, wilted peach, a sweet richness with a subtle bite of barley umami, and a broad body that expands softly despite the alcohol strength. The old peat has an earthy quality that is well-defined.
【Very Good】
This Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old is an official bottle believed to have circulated in the 1970s.
Despite having aged significantly since bottling, the aroma maintains a pleasant old character without being overly dried out. It exhibits a diverse range of fruity notes reminiscent of aging, refined barley, and an old peat character typical of distilleries from before the 1960s.
When tasted, there are no unpleasant elements. The elements of fruit, barley, peat, and earthiness are balanced and harmoniously expressed within a pleasant old character.
In summary, while retaining the charm of an old bottle and vintage, the old character does not become overwhelming. This is nothing short of miraculous.
If I understood this condition, I would毫不犹豫ly purchase it even if it were slightly expensive. But it's probably difficult to decide, isn't it? Still, I can't help but feel like buying a dream, even though it's not a lottery ticket. (Laugh)
