Ainslie's 12 Year Old Circulated in the 1970s
Bottle #ブレンデッド・ヴァッテッド(blended or vatted malt)
The old Clynyreish was more than I had imagined, and it left me deeply moved.
Ainslie's 12yo 40% Circulated in the 1970s
The aroma has a good old feel, with apricot tea, wax, tree resin, gentle barley notes, and a hint of old peat. When drinking it, there is viscosity with the sweetness of apricot jam, the umami of barley, a bit of oil, and the aftertaste has a long-lasting sweetness that is not typical of blended whisky. [Very Good]
This Ainslie's 12 Year Old, a blended whisky, circulated in the 1970s. As can be seen from the label, the key malt is Clynyreish. However, the characteristics such as apricot tea, wax, tree resin, and a slightly sticky texture with oil clearly reflect what I think of as the typical Clynyreish. It even feels like it could be an old single malt from Clynyreish, and the sweetness with a rich body is very impressive. It also left an impression that this oiliness lasted all the way to the finish.
This was my first time trying this bottle, but it left a strong impression on me. Also, I drank it alongside the Ambassador 25 Year Old that I posted about yesterday, and we discussed which one was better. In terms of the completion as a whisky, it's definitely Ambassador, but in terms of individuality and emotional connection, this Ainslie's was the favorite. Personally, it's hard to choose between them; I liked both.
