Glen Ord 12 Year Old Official Bottling Circulated in the 1970s-80s
Bottle #グレンオード(GLENORD)
It met expectations with a stronger old character.
Glen Ord GLENORD 12yo OB 40%
Circulated in the 1970s-80s
The aroma has a pronounced old character with grapefruit, faint peach and violets, and a refined malty note with dry nuances. On the palate, it has a smooth mouthfeel with dried grapefruit, a gradually spreading malty sweetness, a subtle sweet and sour flavor without any strong characteristics, and a faint earthy old peatiness from the depths, finishing with a clean aftertaste.
【Good/Very Good】
An official bottling of Glen Ord 12 Year Old believed to have circulated in the 1970s-80s. While this is one of my favorite old bottles that I've enjoyed many times, this particular bottling felt slightly more old-character oriented. However, the delightful citrus notes reminiscent of grapefruit, the faint peach-like quality, the pleasant malty character, and the aged peatiness I usually perceive were all clearly present. Despite its old character and earthy qualities, the overall impression remained clear, which met my expectations. Indeed, a good bottle.
