From the start, it has a strong aroma of grapefruit zest and pear, with old-fashioned notes of dried barley and plant-like sensations. I personally enjoyed the overall old-world feel. When drinking, it has a slightly delicate character but with a gentle mouthfeel. Similar to the aroma, there is a strong yet refined fruity sweetness that evokes the sensation of juice. Though the body seemed somewhat dried out, the flavor remained beautiful until the finish. I still remember my first experience with this bottle. The nuance of grapefruit zest that moved me when I tasted 1960s Bowmore was surprisingly present in this young standard. It made me feel the depth and grandeur of old bottles. Since then, I have tried many old standards, but similar nuances appearing prominently are only found in this Aultmore, along with the 1970s Cardhu and Dalmunach Damy Bottle. In my own classification, these three are strongly recognized as the same fruity malt category.
