Glen Garioch 13yo Samaroli 57% Fino Sherry Cask, Bottled in the late 1980s
Bottle #グレンギリー(GLENGARIOCH)
A distinctive and charming Glen Garioch with clearly evident original spirit character. Glen Garioch 13yo Samaroli 57% Fino Sherry Cask, Bottled in the late 1980s The aroma features ripe citrus, grapefruit, apple, vanilla, slightly damp malt, fur, faint cheese, nuts, and earthy peat, with richness. On the palate, it expands from a smooth mouthfeel into a strong, fragrant flavor with a texture that lingers on the tongue, sweet and full-bodied, slightly briny, savory notes of cheese and malt, a touch of damp earthiness and peat. The finish is long. [Very Good/Excellent] This full-strength Glen Garioch, aged 13 years, was bottled by Samaroli in the late 1980s. Though not explicitly stated, it is said to be from the 1975 vintage. While Samaroli has bottled many legendary Glen Gariochs, recent examples include the Fragments of Scotland 12yo at 50%, suggesting a similar profile. A diverse range of fruity notes, both fresh and matured, combined with a unique damp texture and earthy peatiness were clearly felt. The texture allowed the savory notes to penetrate, without losing elements typically lost with aging, showcasing a bold character. Though labeled as Fino Sherry Cask, the cask influence was not overt, allowing a direct experience of the original spirit's character and aging process. A remarkable bottle. #Glen Garioch (GLENGARIOCH)
