MiltonDuff 14 Year Old Sestante Pluscarden Valley 40%

MiltonDuff MILTONDUFF 14yo SESTANTE PLUSCARDEN VALLEY 40% 1980s bottling
Bottle #ミルトンダフ(MILTONDUFF)
The old character may be divisive depending on personal taste. MiltonDuff MILTONDUFF 14yo SESTANTE PLUSCARDEN VALLEY 40% 1980s bottling The aroma has a strong old character, with tea, apricot jam, ripe orange, cinnamon, caramel, matured barley notes, and earthy old peat from the depths. Upon drinking, it has a soft mouthfeel with the rich sweetness of apricot jam and dried orange, accompanied by herbal notes with a touch of bitterness and earthiness, along with the tannic depth of strong tea that seeps in. 【Good/Very Good】 The Sestante MiltonDuff 14 Year Old labeled 'Pluscarden Valley' is a watered-down type, and in addition to this 14-year-old expression, there are also 21-year-old and 12-year-old versions available, including cask strength variants that I've previously written about. Due to its short maturation and watered-down nature, it exhibits a slightly stronger old character. However, it also has the concentrated sweetness and fruitiness of ripe fruits, along with a refined barley umami that seeps in, enhanced by old peat and earthy nuances. In Sestante's bottles of this type, it's common to find both high-proof and watered-down versions with the same label and age statement, even if they aren't from the same cask. Personally, I often find the high-proof versions to be more outstanding.
