Glenfarclas 15 Year Old Official Whisky Exchange Bottling
Bottle #グレンファークラス(GLENFARCLAS)
It had a recent sherry character, but it wasn't off-putting and was quite acceptable.
Glenfarclas GLENFARCLAS 15yo OB for THE WHISKY EXCHANGE 58.6%
The aroma is a recent sherry, not too strong, with orange covered in chocolate, sour apricot and plum, a solid malty character, Danish pastry, slightly resinous pine, the taste is also recent sherry with a spicy tingle, sweetness of orange and honey, a robust malty umami, slightly woody oak with a malty and slightly spicy finish.
[Good/Very Good]
This Glenfarclas 15 Year Old was bottled by the official bottler for The Whisky Exchange.
It seems to be a fairly recent bottling.
The overall character is wrapped in a recent sherry influence, but not overwhelming, with the fruitiness of chocolate-covered orange and slightly sour fruits remaining, as well as a malty character.
When drinking it, the attack still feels somewhat rough with strong malty notes, but its umami is rich and it asserts itself without being overshadowed by the sherry fruitiness.
There are also parts where a slightly woody character lingers, but it was a recent Farclas with good depth and balance.
It's unclear whether the rawness will dissipate, but it would be even more delicious if the overall character became smoother.
