Glenelgin 16 Year Old Official 'The Manager's Dram' 60% 1993 Bottling

Glenelgin Glenelgin 16yo OB 'The Manager's Dram' 60% bottled in 1993
Bottle #グレンエルギン(GLENELGIN)
A strong and standout sherry cask, this is wonderful regardless of the era. Glenelgin Glenelgin 16yo OB 'The Manager's Dram' 60% bottled in 1993 The aroma is rich sherry, prunes, apricot jam, coffee or bitter chocolate, caramel sauce, faint wax, and from the depths, burnt malt, rich. When drinking, it starts with a viscous mouthfeel and expands powerfully and aromatically, similar to the aroma, strong sweetness of prunes or apricot jam, pleasant astringency, oil, full-bodied, rich and long finish. [Very Good/Excellent] An official commemorative bottle distributed to distillery staff, the Manager's Dram, originally a non-sale item. This Glenelgin 16 year old, known as the Manager's Dram, was bottled in 1993, so retroactively it is believed to have been distilled around 1977. The aroma and flavor are so lively that it's hard to believe it has been 25 years since bottling. It has a strong sherry character. Unlike the noble and mysterious intoxicating type of the 1960s, it has a matured diversity and depth with strong sherry character and well-preserved delicious maltiness. Despite the intense cask and barley character, there are faint wax or oily elements in the background. Is this the original spirit's individuality? A sherry cask malt with a hard-to-put-into-words wonderfulness. If I had to express it, the combination of unity and intensity is its standout charm. #Glenelgin (GLENELGIN)
