Springbank 16 Year Old Rochdale Founder's Reserve Black Label

Springbank SPRINGBANK 16yo Rochdale Founder's Reserve Black Label 46%
Bottle #スプリングバンク(SPRINGBANK)
A soft sherry-influenced Springbank from the 1990s. Springbank SPRINGBANK 16yo Rochdale Founder's Reserve Black Label 46% The aroma features gentle sherry, grape with skins, light orange marmalade, peat from the back, lightly caramelized nuts, richness, a soft sherry sensation that wraps around everything when drinking, jam-like sweetness with body, good astringency, faint bitter chocolate, and in the latter half, a strong peat with a smoky edge. [Good/Very Good] Released around 2008 by Rochdale, this is Springbank's Founder's Reserve. It was a 16-year-old black label, also known as the Black Founder's, following red and blue bottlings. I remember that later there was also a label with gold text on white background. The color is quite deep, and it feels like Springbank wrapped in a soft and gentle sherry sensation. Notes of grape with skins and berry jam are present, as well as a strong peat typical of 1990s Springbank, which is clearly expressed in the latter half. I bought one when it was released in 2008 and drank it at home, but I felt there were a lot of rough elements in a good way, and some rustic qualities. This time, while keeping the good aspects, I felt it had a slightly more refined impression than before.
