Bottle #グレンダラン(GLENDULLAN)
A rich sherry cask with a full-bodied flavor, excellent.
GlenDullan 18 Years Old Official Manager's Dram (64%) - Bottled in 1989, Sherry Cask
The aroma is rich sherry with bitter chocolate-dusted orange, ripe plums, berry jam, coffee, caramelized nuts, a slightly damp barley note, faint leaf mold, leather, rich, and powerful. Upon drinking, it expands with a spicy kick, mirroring the aroma's fruity and diverse jam-like notes. It has a strong, sweet richness with a deep tannic finish, full-bodied, rich, and long-lasting.
【Very Good】
This is the Official Manager's Dram GlenDullan 18 Years Old, bottled in 1989. As you may know, Manager's Dram was a non-selling item distributed to related parties at the time. Calculating backward, this would be distillation from around 1970-1971. From the first aroma, there's an immediate impact of rich sherry, and while it's matured, surprisingly little old-age character is present. It feels lively and vibrant.
Alongside the robust sherry cask nuances of ripe, dark-colored berries and their jams, chocolate and coffee with tannic qualities, caramelized nuts, there's also a slightly moist, savory barley note, an earthy leaf mold-like depth, and leather-like qualities. It was very complex and rich.
When drinking, it delivers the heavy, diverse flavors as expected from its aroma, with powerful intensity. Although high in alcohol and spicy, there's also a sweet, sticky nuance that clings to the tongue, offering deep richness.
It's truly full-bodied with an incredible drinking impact, a persuasive malt that leaves no doubt.
