Ardbeg 18 Year Old Wilson & Morgan 1992 Bottling
Bottle #アードベッグ(ARDBEG)
A sharp and distinctive flavor from the 1970s distillation.
Ardbeg ARDBEG 18yo WILSON & MORGAN 46% 1992 Bottling
The aroma has sharp cold nuances, chlorine and metal, cresol, cinnamon, dry grass, smoky peat, and a dry grain sensation. When drinking, it spreads gradually with a clear cold metallic and chlorine note, cresol, smoky peat dominance, not much sweetness, umami from smoked seafood, and a strong grain sensation with a textured mouthfeel. [Very Good]
A 46% ABV version of Ardbeg 18 Year Old from Wilson & Morgan. As it was bottled in 1992, the distillation date would be around 1974. The overall aroma is wrapped in sharp cold nuances, with no sticky sensations. From the very beginning of the aroma, the strong 1970s Ardbeg notes of metal, chlorine, and cresol are clearly felt, making it very smoky. The barley character also came through with the aging period. When drinking, it was as cool and smoky as the aroma. Not much sweetness, but umami from smoked seafood and barley seeped into the tongue. This bottle feels like a straightforward 1970s Ardbeg style, similar to other 1974 bottlings like Providence, Samaroli, and Green Caden. It's a type that one might imagine if water was skillfully added to those bottles. Full of 1970s Ardbeg character and high completion, this was a very satisfying 1970s Ardbeg with water added.
