A refined luxurious malt.
Glenmorangie GLENMORANGIE 18yo Original Bottling 43%
The aroma is elegant and refined, with notes of vanilla, crème brûlée with citrus, floral, and slightly ripe plums.
When drinking, it starts with a soft mouthfeel that spreads comfortably, with slightly concentrated orange juice, gradually emerging pineapple, a sweet and mellow flavor, high-quality oak, slightly creamy, and a refined, pleasant finish.
[Very Good]
This is the current 18-year-old release of Glenmorangie.
It had been a while since I last drank it, but I was surprisingly impressed by its deliciousness.
Similar to standard original bottlings, the main character is a luxurious bourbon cask influence, but it feels more refined and complex.
There seems to be some sherry casks involved, adding depth with nuances of ripe red fruits.
The mouthfeel was very good, as refined as the aroma.
Alongside concentrated citrusy fruits, there were also nuances of pineapple.
Additionally, the oak notes carried a sense of luxury, tightening the gentle, mellow sweetness nicely.
The bottle and its contents are both luxurious and enjoyable to drink; while it doesn't have a strong individuality, it has depth and feels stress-free, making it easy to drink any amount.
Among the current official 18-year-old malts, I thought this was particularly good.
I believe it's currently in circulation, so I think I'll buy a few bottles.
