A limited edition bottle of Glenlivet with no duds. Glenlivet GLENLIVET 18yo OB Minmore #22378 57.9% bottled in 2012 The aroma is vibrant and strong, with notes of apricot jam, orange, black tea, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, a touch of youthful plantiness, and a sharpness in the barley character. Upon tasting, it is spicy and tingling with citrus sweetness and acidity, barley depth, a bit of plantiness, and a lingering orange oil finish. [Good/Very Good] This is an official limited edition bottling of Glenlivet, labeled 'Minmore,' bottled in 2012. As it is an 18-year-old whisky, the distillation would have been around 1994. The aroma is vibrant and strong, with a pronounced sense of ripe fruits like apricot and orange, along with a clear barley character. However, there is also a slightly younger nuance in the barley and plant notes. When tasted, it has a strong mouthfeel with a tingling sensation. The citrus sweetness and good acidity, along with the barley depth, give a sense of a delicious malt whisky made from barley. Although it is a vibrant and tasty malt, when compared to other official limited edition bottlings such as Valiant or Nevie that I have had in recent years, it feels like a bit more maturity would be nice. But of course, that might be too much to ask for.
