Glenlivet GLENLIVET 19yo OB "Corgarff" #49978 59.7% bottled in 2015
Bottle #グレンリベット(GLENLIVET)
This was a serious sherry nose from Glenlivet. Glenlivet GLENLIVET 19yo OB "Corgarff" #49978 59.7% bottled in 2015 The aroma had a pleasant sherry, apricot jam and light berry notes, orange with slightly chocolate, gradually intensifying malty sweetness, with oak and herb complexity and richness. When drinking, it starts with a smooth mouthfeel lighter than the alcohol strength, then becomes slightly spicy and expands into a rich, jammy sweetness with astringent balance, rich oak, cinnamon, and a long-lasting finish. 【Very Good】 This is an official Glenlivet 19 year old bottled in 2015, likely for the Dutch market, as a single cask edition called "Corgarff". Working backward, this would be around 1996 distillation. Although not explicitly stated, the aroma suggests a sherry cask. As expected from Glenlivet's specially selected barrels, it had a diverse range of fruity notes, refined chocolate and herbs, along with a well-preserved malty sweetness. The balance between the rich, deep sweetness and astringency was excellent, with an undeniably luxurious barrel character. It was extremely delicious. While I had the image of a limited cask from Glenlivet, this exceeded my expectations. It seems to have great aging potential, and I can only imagine how amazing it would be if tasted 20 years later. This bottle was kindly provided by IAN from Mitsukoshi Mae. #Glenlivet (GLENLIVET)
