Bottle #ブルイックラディ(BRUICHLADDICH)
A clear apple-like aroma was strongly felt and it was quite delicious.
Bruichladdich BRUICHLADDICH 1964 17yo OB 43%
The aroma has a baked apple, cinnamon, apple pie, plum jam, slightly charred barley, woody notes with a hint of hinoki (Japanese cypress), richness. Upon drinking, it has a smooth mouthfeel, rich and viscous texture with intense sweetness of heated apple or apricot jam, gentle acidity, depth, woody notes of hinoki, a faint mintiness, slightly oily, and a rich long finish. [Very Good]
This is Bruichladdich 17 Year Old, a bottle with the vintage notation of 1964 added through dilution.
The aroma has a strong woody character with the baked apple notes often found in 60s Bruichladdich and a pronounced hinoki-like woody character, giving it a rich feel.
Upon tasting, it was smooth with a viscous and rich texture despite the dilution. Similar to the aroma, there were notes of apple and jam, as well as hinoki-like woody elements. The rich, oily finish with a sweet depth and gentle acidity was also impressive.
This bottle encapsulates the personality of 60s Bruichladdich. While I personally find the strong hinoki-like character a bit too much, it seemed to successfully convey an alluring and rich character without being overwhelming.
