MACALLAN MACALLAN 1964-1981 OB 43%
The aroma features noble sherry with a seductive quality, strawberry jam, concentrated grape juice, dried fruits, herbs and clove, antique furniture, with a sense of intoxication.
When drinking, it starts with a smooth mouthfeel that expands into a rich bouquet of pleasant sweetness from berry jam and grape juice, subtle acidity, pleasant astringency, faint old peat. These elements are perfectly balanced, refined and sophisticated, leaving a long-lasting, seductive and intoxicating aftertaste on the tongue.
【Very Good/Excellent】
This official MACALLAN was matured for approximately 17 years, filled in 1964 and bottled in 1981.
From the start, a noble and seductive sherry character rises up, making your heart race.
A captivating fruity sensation of strawberry jam and grape juice combines with herbs and spices, as well as a moderate woody character from the past, creating an overwhelming sense of intoxication.
When drinking, it starts with a velvety smooth mouthfeel and gives a sense of expansion beyond its alcohol strength, allowing you to savor the wonderful sherry nuances similar to the aroma. The refined balance of sweetness, acidity and astringency is perfect, and finally, I could also perceive peat.
There was an intoxicating sensation that lasted through the long finish.
This is a truly worthy malt, living up to the name of the Rolls-Royce of single malts.
