The astringency was strong, but the noble sherry characteristic of GM was clearly felt. Longmorn 1964-2010 46yo GM PRIVATE COLLECTION #1534 51.9% One of 164 bottles, FIRST FILL SHERRY HOGSHEAD The aroma was strong and noble sherry with ripe red strawberries jam, intense woodiness, bouquet garni, mint, rich. Upon drinking, it starts with a soft mouthfeel and expands powerfully with strong sherry and woodiness, grape juice, berry jam's rich sweetness, strong tannin astringency. The rich and long finish is dominated by jam and astringency. 【Very Good】 This Longmorn 1964, 46-year-old maturation comes from GM's private collection. As far as I know, I have never seen Longmorn 1964 bottled after this. The aroma immediately presents noble sherry, with strong impressions of concentrated strawberry jam and herbs like mint. As expected from a super long-aged first-fill sherry cask, the woodiness is strongly felt. When drinking, despite its long aging, the alcohol content provides a solid body that expands aromatically. The strong sherry character, as imagined from the aroma, includes grape juice and berry jam, creating a very intoxicating sensation. Although the woodiness is strong and the astringency is pronounced, it's an exceptional sherry cask malt that more than compensates for the over-ripeness.
