Glenalbyn 1965 Scotch Malt Sales 'Tir Nan Oc' Bottling Mid-2000s
Bottle #グレンアルビン(GLENALBYN)
It was unexpectedly different in type but very delicious.
Glenalbyn GLENALBYN 1965 SCOTCH MALT SALES 'TIR NAN OC' 53.7% Mid-2000s Bottling
The aroma has a slightly oily and heavy character, with butter Scotch, some raisins, apricot jam, faint red tea and cinnamon, rich, and a pleasant malty sensation.
When drinking, it starts with a silky mouthfeel that expands powerfully and aromatically, with candied apple, a viscous and pleasant oily texture clinging to the mouth, cream, cinnamon, a rich sweetness, and a concentrated malty umami with an exceptionally long finish.
[Very Good]
This is the Glenalbyn 1965 'Tir Nan Oc' bottled by Scotch Malt Sales in the mid-2000s. The first impression is oily and heavy, with a rich aroma centered around butter Scotch and apricot jam. While the malty character is present in moderation, the long maturation also brings diverse elements like the above.
Tasting it does not betray the aroma's impression, with a rich and concentrated silky flavor that is powerful and aromatic. Particularly impressive were the sweet richness and malty umami.
Glenalbyn from the 1960s often features bottles with an enigmatic, sexy nuance such as official bottlings or GM bottlings, which I greatly enjoy, so I had expected something similar. However, this bottle is not of that type.
Nevertheless, it's a satisfyingly flavorful Glenalbyn with substantial drinking pleasure despite not being 'erotic' in style, and I was very satisfied.
