Glenturret GLENTURRET 1966-1990 OB 40% The aroma carries a good old character with a touch of sensuality, featuring withered orange, natural pear and peach, rustic barley notes, honey, pleasant oak, slightly caramelized nuts, tanned leather, and richness. On the palate, it starts with a soft mouthfeel that expands into spiciness, revealing dried orange, rustic barley umami that lingers on the tongue, and an unexpectedly rich honey sweetness. Despite its alcohol content, it has a solid body and a satisfying finish. 【Good/Very Good】 This is the Glenturret 1966 bottling from 1990. The clear bottle format is something I've never seen before for this distillery. Typically, these bottlings often have a strong soapy perfume that lingers for a long time, making me cautious before drinking. However, I didn't detect any soapy notes at all. Instead, it offered a pleasant aroma with a balanced old character and sensuality. I could also perceive diverse natural fruitiness, leather-like nuances, and lingering barley notes, likely influenced by bottle aging. On the palate, despite its alcohol content, it delivered a spicy kick while expanding its flavor profile. Surprisingly, it had good depth and body. The rustic barley umami that lingers on the tongue was particularly impressive, and the drinking experience was very pleasant. This seems to be an old bottle approaching its peak, and I believe I drank it at a good time.
