Bottle #ロングモーン(LONGMORN)
When drinking it, you truly feel how excellent the sherry casks were back then. Longmorn LONGMORN 1966-2008 41yo GM celtic label #5061 43.8% one of 309 bottles, First Fill Sherry Butt The aroma starts with noble old sherry, berry jam, grape juice-like notes, strong woodiness, leather, caramel, bitter chocolate, rich and complex. Upon drinking, it delivers a strong sweet berry jam flavor, gentle yet intense tropical fruits, grape juice, and a deep woody bitterness with richness and a long finish. [Very Good] The Longmorn 1966, 41-year-old matured in a sherry cask from GM with the Celtic label. The aroma immediately presents noble old sherry, with ample Longmorn-like grape juice notes from vintage sherry. Slightly woody but rich and complex. When drinking, the strong old sherry is present but not overpowering, with clear tropical fruits and grape juice notes expected from Longmorn. Although the woody bitterness is strong, it also delivers depth and a rich, long-lasting finish. At the time this bottle was released, there were so many consecutive releases of long-matured Longmorn with Celtic labels in sherry casks that it could be called a flood. Many of them had an overly woody, demitasse coffee-like bitterness that felt overripe, which was slightly off-putting. But now it seems like an excessively luxurious preference. Today, such a noble sherry malt is no longer available at an affordable price, and I can't help but wish I had bought more.
