one of 168 bottles, Bourbon Hogshead
The aroma is strong and elegant, with estery notes that convey long aging, a robust fruity scent, tropical fruits like pear and pineapple, peach, vanilla, butter, and cream. The mouthfeel is smooth, with a similarly elegant fruity profile, peach, pear, pineapple, a subtle creaminess, and a refined sweetness. Overall, it's beautifully balanced with a light body but no harshness or obvious over-ripeness.
【Very Good】
From Cadenhead's gold label comes the new release of Glenlossie 1966, aged for 48 years.
Malt from the 1960s has become extremely rare recently, so it was a surprise to see this new release.
From the first aroma, an estery, long-aged profile with a diverse range of fruity notes takes center stage, evoking peaches, pears, and tropical sensations.
Upon tasting, while the alcohol content is lower and it lacks power, it's still elegant with a diverse array of fruity notes and creamy nuances, making it delicious.
As expected for an ultra-long-aged malt, the body is somewhat light, but there's no unpleasant over-ripeness such as astringency or overpowering woodiness, presenting a refined and beautiful structure that easily conveys the charm of long aging.
