Bottle #トミントール(TOMINTOUL)
An ultra-long-matured Tomintoul with a remarkably rich maturation feel when tasted. Tomintoul TOMINTOUL 1967-2013 46yo THE WHISKY AGENCY 'Reflections' 47.6% one of 215 bottles, Refill Hogshead The aroma features a rich, brewed tea with mint, chamomile, apricot jam, orange, a subtle estery note, and vanilla cream. Upon tasting, it is soft with more maturation depth than the aroma suggests—estery notes, pear, refined sweetness, good acidity, slightly creamy and oily with a pleasant finish. [Good/Very Good] From The Whisky Agency's recent 'Reflections' series, this is an ultra-long-matured Tomintoul 1967, 46 years old. The aroma offers fruity notes like apricot jam and orange, alongside a unique nuance reminiscent of chamomile tea. Honestly, while the aroma was good, I didn't initially sense much of The Agency's signature long-matured character. However, upon tasting, there was a stronger maturation depth than expected—estery and fruity elements stood out. Despite its ultra-long aging, there was no overwhelming over-oxidation, and the refined sweetness and acidity were pleasant. In recent 1960s releases, Tomintoul has taken up a significant portion. Yet, there was no bitterness or harsh cask influence; it's a well-balanced new release that clearly conveys its long-matured character.
