Upon tasting, it is soft with more maturation depth than the aroma suggests—estery notes, pear, refined sweetness, good acidity, slightly creamy and oily with a pleasant finish. The aroma offers fruity notes like apricot jam and orange, alongside a unique nuance reminiscent of chamomile tea. Honestly, while the aroma was good, I didn't initially sense much of The Agency's signature long-matured character. However, upon tasting, there was a stronger maturation depth than expected—estery and fruity elements stood out. Despite its ultra-long aging, there was no overwhelming over-oxidation, and the refined sweetness and acidity were pleasant. In recent 1960s releases, Tomintoul has taken up a significant portion. Yet, there was no bitterness or harsh cask influence; it's a well-balanced new release that clearly conveys its long-matured character.
