Bottle #グレンアギー(GLENUGIE)
The strong and diverse fruity notes were impressive.
Glenugie GLENUGIE 1968-2006 GM Rare Old 43%
The aroma is elegant, strong and fruity, with a long maturation feel. It features notes of custard cream, plums, vanilla, orange liqueur, and a rich woody character. Upon drinking, it expands from a soft mouthfeel with tropical fruits like pineapple and guava, along with a rich sweetness, creaminess, and fruity finish.
[Good/Very Good]
This is a rare old bottling from the closed distillery of Glenugie, matured for approximately 38 years between 1968 and 2006. The first impression is a very elegant aroma with strong maturation notes, characterized by a strong and diverse fruity and woody profile. Upon tasting, it has the soft mouthfeel typical of long-matured blends, expanding with fruity notes similar to the aroma and adding tropical elements like pineapple. The fruity and creamy finish was also pleasant.
Glenugie is known for bottles with tropical fruit nuances in older releases, but this one seems more like a result of maturation rather than the distillery's style.
