Glenelgin 1971-1985 Samaroli 50%
Bottle #グレンエルギン(GLENELGIN)
Once again, a wonderful honeyed malt.
Glenelgin GLENELGIN 1971-1985 SAMAROLI 50%
one of 1200 bottles
The aroma is mellowed. Orange and honey, matured vanilla cream, dried fruits, faint wax, rich maltiness with a subtle damp peat.
When drinking, it starts with a soft mouthfeel that expands into an aromatic depth, with a faint viscosity, honeyed sweetness, orange oil, and subtle acidity that further deepens the flavor. The matured maltiness, its umami, wax, and a long pleasant finish.
【Very Good/Excellent】
This is the Glenelgin 1971 bottled by Samaroli in 1985.
It is a 50% Samaroli bottling, same specifications as the Fragments of Scotland's Speyside spelling of Elgin.
Although I have drunk this bottle many times and it is one of my favorites, the expected honeyed depth of sweetness, the maltiness and body that feel substantial despite dilution left a strong impression on me.
Indeed, Samaroli's 1980s bottlings are all exceptional.
