Bottle #ロングモーン(LONGMORN)
This bottle offers exactly what one would expect from a Longmorn whisky matured in sherry casks and diluted with water. Longmorn LONGMORN 1971-2004 GM Distillery Labels 40% The aroma features noble sherry, raisins, berry jam, bitter chocolate, herbs, clove, cinnamon, and mint. On the palate, it has a velvety smooth texture with strong sensations of grape skin and juice, deepened by woody notes and tannins, along with herbal elements like mint. It delivers a captivating experience with a long finish. [Very Good] This Longmorn 1971 is a diluted (water-added) version from the GM Distillery, bottled in 2004. It perfectly captures the noble sherry character and fresh grape juice-like fruitiness reminiscent of older Longmorn expressions. The mouthfeel is smooth, with sweet fruity notes from juice and a pleasant tannic bitterness. Due to its diluted nature, it offers a stress-free, intoxicating experience. A 2008 bottling of the same vintage also exists, though both share similar sherry cask malt profiles. The simple labeling of this diluted version may explain why it remained on store shelves for a long time despite being discounted. Alongside the 30-Year-Old Distillery Label, these two Longmorn 1971 bottlings may be among the most frequently consumed bottles in my collection.
