Bottle #グレンファークラス(GLENFARCLAS)
A rich and satisfying Glenfarclas aged in bourbon casks. Glenfarclas (RED BARON OF SPEYSIDE) 1971-2012 40yo GLEN FAHRN AIRLINE 51.7% one of 139 bottles, Bourbon Cask The aroma is elegant and estery with notes of apricot jam, chocolate-covered orange, butterscotch, resinous woodiness, coconut, rich, and a powerful attack without being stimulating. The sweetness of orange marmalade and honey provides a thick, savory depth, while the oak's tannic finish tightens it up. Slight pine resin and oil, a warm, heavy body with a long finish. 【Good/Very Good】 Bottled by GLEN FAHRN in Germany as 'RED BARON OF SPEYSIDE', this 1971 vintage aged for 40 years. The contents are Glenfarclas. As expected from a long-aged bottle selected by the German bottler, the aroma starts with an elegant estery quality and has a rich fruity character reminiscent of thick jams. The heavy malty notes like butterscotch, oiliness, and resinous woodiness are strongly felt. As the alcohol strength is well-preserved, it has a powerful flavor with rich, thick sweetness. Similar to the aroma, strong woodiness and oiliness are present throughout, giving a full-bodied malt with an overall heaviness. It has a very satisfying drinking experience and is rich and delicious, but personally, I found it slightly tiring due to its weight. This is purely a personal preference, but it feels like it was aged too long in a good cask. #Glenfarclas (GLENFARCLAS)
