Royal Lochnagar 1972 21yo The Scotch Malt Whisky Society 103.3 50.3%
Bottle #ロイヤルロッホナガ―(ROYAL LOCHNAGAR)
A delicious malt without any seasoning, belonging to my favorite category.
Royal Lochnagar (ROYAL LOCHNAGAR) 1972-1993 21 Year Old The Scotch Malt Whisky Society 103.3 50.3%
The aroma features cinnamon, vanilla, coconut, a strong yet matured barley note, faint plum jam, plain cask characteristics. Upon drinking, it offers a chewy, condensed, rustic barley flavor with a rich, textured umami. The taste remains clean and well-defined, with cinnamon, plum jam, vanilla, and a long, pleasant finish.
【Very Good】
This is Royal Lochnagar 1972, approximately 21 years old from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. It resembles the plain yet concentrated style found in Cadenhead's society bottles or Seaford, where the barley's umami is convincing despite minimal complexity. While not particularly distinctive, it may appeal more to connoisseurs. However, the more I drink it, the more I find its charm. Its subtlety and lack of strong characteristics make it easy to drink endlessly. I believe this type is undeniably better after aging in the bottle rather than immediately post-bottling.
