As expected from the aroma, it has a complex flavor profile with concentrated sweetness, a good tannic quality reminiscent of grape skins, and a texture that feels like savoring the sweetness of barley. Originally, this bottle was released at a high price, but for that reason, it has remained in the market for a long time and was even sold at a discount. I bought one during that period and had it in my home, having shared a bottle with it. Of course, it was so delicious that I drank it all quickly, but since then, I considered this bottle the best among BALVENIE. This time, I was able to reunite with it after a long time. At that time, I had the luxury of opening it alongside an official 30-year-old bottle for a tasting comparison. Although both bottles shared the same grape-skin-like characteristics, while the 30-year-old had a heavier feel with some rustic qualities, this 1972 has a heavy yet refined character. It truly stood out as an exceptional malt that delivers both drinking satisfaction and a pleasant mouthfeel. As mentioned above, this time as well, it still left the same impression and was extremely appealing. It seems my throne in terms of favorites remains unchallenged.
