Bottle #トバモリー(TOBERMORY)
Very tasty Tobermory. Perhaps the best. Tobermory TOBERMORY 1972 33yo MOON IMPORT #9 49% One of 960 bottles The aroma is strong and rich sherry, prunes, grape juice with the skin crushed, berry notes, and in the background there are herbs, leather, charred barley, and earthy leaf mold with a faint peat. When you drink it, the smooth mouthfeel expands into a rich flavor. Similar to the aroma, there is juicy grape sweetness and the bitterness of its skin, adding depth to the flavor. In the background, there is a savory malt that blends with fruits, followed by leaf mold, bouquet garni, peat, and a long, layered, deep finish. [Very Good] This Tobermory 1972 was bottled by Moon Import, aged for 33 years. It is believed to be a sherry cask, and the color is quite dark. As expected from its color, there's a strong sherry note with a variety of concentrated fruits, but it also had an appealing juicy quality. There are also herbal notes, leather, remaining maltiness, and a strong earthy leaf mold nuance that often feels like a big malt. Despite being aged in a strong cask for a long time, the maltiness remains, and while the sherry note is indeed strong, it's not one-dimensional. It is very aromatic and full of flavor with a satisfying drinking experience. It's quite delicious, perhaps my best Tobermory. I received this bottle from IAN at Mitsukoshi-mae.
