The label is mysterious, but the contents are orthodox and excellent. Tamnavulin TAMNAVULIN 1973-1999 25yo OB(?) 'New Century' #1948-1955 45% The aroma is calm, rich, with notes of amaretto, nuts, orange marmalade, Armagnac, oak, and richness. When drinking, it starts with a smooth mouthfeel expanding into a rich, full-bodied flavor with coconut, sweet amaretto, a creamy texture, oak, a pleasant tannin and slight bitterness, ending with a rich, nutty finish. [Very Good] Bottled to celebrate the arrival of the new century in 1999, this Tamnavulin 1973, aged for 25 years, is said to be an official small batch. However, the distillery name is only faintly mentioned at the end of the back label. Is this truly an official bottle? (laughs) The label is mysterious, but the contents are a very delicious orthodox whisky. The aroma feels more like a calm, rich depth rather than a vibrant expansion, with nutty notes of amaretto and almonds leaving an impression. The fruit elements have a strong grape-like quality reminiscent of concentrated marmalade and Armagnac, making it very rich. When drinking, despite being watered-down, it remains thick and rich, with the nutty and amaretto notes matching the aroma's impression. The sweetness has a solid body, and there is also a tightening tannin, resulting in a rich flavor. It has complexity with a sense of weight and an impressive drinking experience that defies expectations for a watered-down whisky.
