Bottle #グレングラッサ(GLENGLASSAUGH)
A fragrant and intoxicatingly fruity Glenglassaugh. GlenGlassaugh GLENGLASSAUGH 1973-2008 34yo A.D.RATTRAY #3776 52.0% One of 136 bottles, Bourbon Cask The aroma features rich and sticky fruits like apricot, orange, and apple, with a long-matured estery character, slightly pineapple, peach, black tea, vanilla cream, and coconut oil. Upon drinking, it starts with a soft mouthfeel that expands into a richly aromatic profile. The intensity of the fruits and estery notes is overwhelming, with apricot tea, a touch of pineapple, a strong yet creamy sweetness. The woody character is well-integrated without being intrusive, providing depth and body. The lingering fruity and intoxicating aftertaste is long-lasting. [Very Good] This GlenGlassaugh 1973, matured for 34 years, was bottled by D.Rattray in 2008. Its charm lies in the diverse fruity notes with estery and tropical elements typical of long-matured Glenglassaugh, combined with rich, sticky fruit characteristics and a balanced woody depth. Unlike the more extreme estery and tropical profiles often found in plain casks, this whisky maintains a solid thickness and drinkability without chemical-like artificiality. It successfully captures the essence of long-matured whisky with an added layer of satisfaction. Compared to other 1973 bottlings, it feels like a middle ground between the Society's and Campbell's versions.
