This was a rich-textured Rosebank. Rosebank ROSEBANK 1974-1993 18yo DUN EIDEANN #5048 43% one of 600 bottles The aroma is softly sweet, with rock candy, apricot jam, oil, and charred barley. When drunk, it has a smooth mouthfeel with the rich sweetness of rock candy and a moist, malty umami flavor. In the latter half, oil and earthy peat take over, with a long finish. [Good/Very Good] This is Rosebank 1974 bottled by Dun Eideann in 1993, aged for 18 years. Opportunities to drink Rosebank from the 1970s have become quite rare. While it's not uncommon to encounter older Rosebanks with oily and peaty nuances, I have never come across one with such a rich texture. I would not expect this in a blind tasting. It has a soft, sweet flavor reminiscent of rock candy and a deep, savory richness. It carries the oily and peaty nuances typical of older Rosebanks, with a touch of earthiness, offering a satisfying drink despite the water addition. #Rosebank (ROSEBANK)
