Bottle #ローズバンク(ROSEBANK)
The house style is unclear, but this Rosebank aged in sherry cask remains outstanding no matter how many times you drink it. Rosebank ROSEBANK 1974-2004 30yo Douglas Laing Old Malt Cask for The Whisky Fair 55.8% one of 212 bottles, sherry cask The aroma is strong and pleasant sherry, grape juice, berry jam, bouquet garni, clove, slightly creamy, barley notes from the depth, rich and complex. Upon drinking, it spreads from a smooth mouthfeel to a fragrant richness with deep, rich sweetness of berries and apricot jam, a moderate astringency, barley umami, herbs, rich and complex with a long finish. [Very Good] This Rosebank 1974, aged for 30 years in a sherry cask, was bottled by Douglas Laing for the Whisky Fair in Limburg in 2004. At the time, it was a topic of discussion as a rare long-aged Rosebank in a sherry cask. While the house style is not particularly noticeable, it had a rich and diverse aroma from high-quality 1970s sherry cask aging. The fragrance reminiscent of grape juice, the concentrated sweetness of jam-like flavors with good astringency, depth and rich, fragrant taste, making it an extremely complex and rich Rosebank. Even now, I think Douglas Laing did well to provide such a cask to Germany at that timing.
