Glenrothes GLENROTHES 1975-2008 32yo DOUGLAS LAING Old Malt Cask #DL4544 50%
one of 253 bottles, Refill Hogshead
The aroma had vanilla cream, banana, orange marmalade, a strong but mature grainy note, a faint vegetal touch, and a slightly lustrous quality. Upon drinking, it started with a smooth mouthfeel that expanded into a rich and complex flavor of ripe orange, its sweetness, nut cream, good grainy notes, oily butteriness, and a long finish.
[Good/Very Good]
This is a 1975 Glenrothes, matured for 32 years, from the Douglas Laing OMC collection.
The aroma had a clear creaminess that one would expect from a delicious 70s Glenrothes, with nuances reminiscent of fruit milk and Western-style confections.
Tasting it also met the expectation from its aroma, with a creamy and fruity profile. It had a slightly oily texture that felt rich and smooth, with a pleasant long finish.
Although it was long-matured, there was no sign of over-ripeness.
