Bottle #ロングモーン(LONGMORN)
This bottling exhibits the characteristic aroma of a 1976 vintage. Longmorn LONGMORN 1976-2013 36yo MALTS OF SCOTLAND #13029 53.7% One of 143 bottles, Bourbon Hogshead The nose offers concentrated black tea, chocolate-dusted dried orange, plum, pineapple, a slightly chemical-like medicinal note, cinnamon, oak, and richness. On the palate, it begins with a smooth mouthfeel expanding into ripe pineapple, apricot jam, concentrated black tea, a rich sweetness, oak, and richness, with some oily texture and a long finish. 【Good/Very Good】 This is a 36-year-old Longmorn from Malts of Scotland, Germany. The nose showcases well-integrated cask influence while retaining the diverse fruity complexity typical of Speyside aged malts, alongside a subtle medicinal chemical nuance. On the palate, the expected opulent, multi-layered fruitiness emerges, with a touch of bitterness from concentrated tea and pronounced cask character. During the 1970s, Longmorn bottlings from agencies like this MoS were quite common. While differing from the tropical fruit-forward style of earlier 1970s Longmorn, this bottling delivers strong, matured fruitiness with a robust cask influence that leans slightly chemical. This bottle is no exception, exhibiting a fruity profile with pronounced cask character. Personally, while the strong cask influence may lead to fatigue, the aged complexity and satisfaction make it a worthwhile bottling.
