Bottle #ポートエレン(PORT ELLEN)
This is a short-matured Port Ellen from the 1970s, but it turned out to be a slightly different type than imagined. Port Ellen PORT ELLEN 1977-1992 15yo THE SCOTCH MALT WHISKY SOCIETY 43.4 61.5% The aroma features citrus, white flowers, young leaves, a dry grainy note with a rugged nuance, strong peatiness with smoky dominance, and oil. When tasted, it gradually reveals spicy notes, citrus, a strong grainy character with chewiness and umami, deep umami that lingers, a pleasant strong peatiness, and a long finish. 【Good/Very Good】 This is number 43 from The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, Port Ellen 1977, matured for 15 years. When thinking of short-matured Port Ellen from the 1970s, one usually imagines a fresh, crisp nuance of citrus and a smoky peatiness with a slightly light body and clean finish. In this case, the fresh nuance is indeed present in both aroma and flavor, but due to its umami, there's a sense of expansion towards the latter half of the palate. Rather than a light and crisp finish, it leaves a more substantial impression. Of course, this was delicious in its own way. #Port Ellen (PORT ELLEN)
