After that comes a grainy and oily character. The taste has the same matured fruity notes, with a rich sweetness, a subtle vegetal bitterness, and an oily texture. The finish is unexpectedly short. [Good/Very Good] Released by SCOTCH MALT SALES in 2004, this LITTLEMILL 1977 from the Distillery Collection has aged for approximately 27 years. The paper-like quality typical of LITTLEMILL was present but not overpowering, with a nuance closer to grains rather than paper or cardboard. It had an Irish-like fruity and oily character, but not too obvious, with minimal chemical notes and a relatively natural feel. The matured character was evident both in the aroma and flavor, making this a very refined type of LITTLEMILL. Although LITTLEMILL is generally not my favorite distillery, this bottle was quite enjoyable to drink.
