It was plain, so the unique character was clearly felt. Bunnahabhain BUNNNAHABHAIN 1979-1994 14yo THE SCOTCH MALT WHISKY SOCIETY 10.23 59.2% The aroma has a matured orange and honey, simple yet savory barley notes, cinnamon, cooked vegetable plantiness, and a strong cask feel but plain. When drinking, it starts with a soft, mellow mouthfeel that expands into spiciness, with orange and faint pear, savory barley notes, a rich sweetness with citrus peel bitterness, a light planty sharpness, and depth. [Good/Very Good] This is bottle number 10 from The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, Bunnahabhain 1979, 14 years old. The cask has a bourbon-like nuance with hints of orange and honey, but there's little seasoning. The savory barley notes were clearly felt from the aroma to the flavor. The balance of rich sweetness and deep bitterness like citrus peel was good, but the planty sharpness typical of Bunnahabhain also made a strong impression. Although it has aged and improved in flavor, the bottle retained Bunnahabhain's rustic character strongly. #Bunnahabhain (BUNNAHABHAIN)
