Glenlivet GLENLIVET 1981-2015 33yo SIGNATORY VINTAGE CASK STRENGTH COLLECTION #9452 52.1% one of 173 bottles, Hogshead The aroma spreads gently with ripe oranges, marmalade, light apple jam, honey, beeswax, pleasant oak, and richness. When drinking, it starts with a smooth mouthfeel that expands into a rich flavor, with viscosity and gradually becoming spicy. The sweetness of orange marmalade and honey is well-balanced, with pleasant oak tightening the flavor, leaving a long finish. The cask wasn't overly dominant, so there was no obvious cask aroma despite the long aging, which left a diverse natural fruity impression. The slightly waxy nuances of beeswax in the aroma were also interesting.
