Despite being bottled nearly 20 years ago, it retains fresh barley notes and their savory depth, paired with a faint lemon tang and a bold, unadorned peat character. Particularly impressive were the barley notes, which felt concentrated and chewy. As a high-proof plain cask whisky—a specification I believe is common in Green Cadenhead bottles—this bottle may not require further aging, as its peak seems already achieved. It could remain dormant in the bottle for another 10–20 years without surpassing its current quality.
