Bottle #カリラ(CAOL ILA)
A delicious Clydesdale that offers various Islay elements.
Clyde CAOL ILA 1983-2002 19yo BBR 46%
The aroma is fresh, citrusy, with a chlorinated and metallic note, sharp and strong peat smoke, vanilla, diluted honey, white flowers, overall cool. When drinking it, there is a slightly powdery and concentrated citrus, cheese, a rich umami with some chewiness, again strong chlorinated and metallic notes, sweetness of syrup, saltiness is also strong, the peat lingers long.
【Good/Very Good】
This is a diluted type of Clydesdale bottled by BBR in 2002, aged for 19 years.
The aroma features fresh citrus notes and the typical Islay peat smoke, as well as a surprisingly strong chlorinated and metallic sensation.
When drinking it, there is a concentrated feeling with a powdery texture, similar to the aroma, with strong citrus and peat notes, as well as nuances of chlorinated and metallic elements.
Overall, it left a fresh and cool impression.
In my imagination, this concentrated citrus sensation and powdery texture remind me of Laphroaig, while the cool impression with chlorinated and metallic nuances reminds me of Ardbeg. The bottle is interesting because it offers both sensations.
