[Good/Very Good] This is a Hunter Laing Old Malt Cask Longmorn 1985, 29-year-old cask strength bottling for the Japan Import System. Although it's an OMC, it was specially bottled at cask strength. The aroma has a concentrated fruity nuance of apricot and orange, with honey-like qualities, creamy textures, and animal-based oil notes like butter, giving a butterscotch impression. The cask influence is quite pronounced, with oak tree resin and pine pitch nuances adding richness overall. When tasted, the fruity notes are complemented by a tropical pineapple-like quality, allowing enjoyment of the butterscotch sweetness and barley umami. The finish carries oak, orange oil, and pine pitch-like elements, lingering long.
