Indeed, the contents selected for Old & Rare are special. Laphroaig LAPHROAIG 1986-2011 25yo DOUGLAS LAING OLD&RARE 55.9% One of 90 bottles, REFILL HOGSHEAD The aroma is strong with apricot jam, ripe oranges and plums, seawater and seaweed, seafood stock, strong iodine peat, faint mint, rich, with a viscous and powerful mouthfeel, boldness present, sweetness of honey and apricot jam, some pineapple, faint oak tannins, strong peat with iodine and charcoal-like smoke, thick body, rich, powerful long finish. 【Very Good】 From Douglas Laing's Old & Rare, Laphroaig 1986, 25 year maturation. Outturn of only 90 bottles, unusually small. The aroma is not the grapefruit-type common in bottler's refill casks, but rather a rich one with noticeable apricot jam and iodine similar to official releases. When drinking, it has a viscous, powerful flavor with strong sweetness and tannins, and I also sensed the charcoal-like peat often found in recent official Laphroaig releases. While different from the fruity, concentrated, powdery type expected from early 1980s Laphroaig, it was a very delicious Laphroaig with rich, aromatic depth and satisfying drinkability. #Laphroaig (LAPHROAIG)
