Glen Grant 1986 5 Year Old Official Bottling 40%

Glen Grant GLENGRANT 1986 5yo OB 40%
Bottle #グレングラント(GLENGRANT)
It turned out to be a better old bottle than expected. Glen Grant GLENGRANT 1986 5yo OB 40% The aroma has a pleasant old bottle feel, with fresh lemon, strong dry barley notes, and a grassy plant-like quality. When tasted, it has a smooth mouthfeel with dry barley and plant notes, light sweetness, and citrus acidity, finishing with a clean, smooth aftertaste. [Good/Very Good] Glen Grant 1986, a 5-year-old official bottling at 40% ABV, with added water. It is believed to have been bottled around 1991 and has since aged for about 25 years. While it shows a certain old bottle character without being off-putting, both in aroma and flavor, there are youthful notes of fresh citrus, young barley, and plant-like qualities typical of younger malts. These elements are smoothly integrated into a refined overall experience. There is light sweetness and a crisp acidity, with the finish being short but elegant and refined. This is a good old bottle suitable for drinking early on. Given that it's a short-matured 40% ABV water-added bottling, the old bottle character is quite evident after 25 years in the bottle. It also had a similar nuance to short-matured, pre-1970s distilled Grant bottlings with added water. As mentioned earlier, the youthful malt character is smoothly integrated, and for a short-matured malt with added water, it seems likely to turn out this way regardless of the era. #Glen Grant (GLENGRANT)
