A much better sherry character than expected from the vintage. Glenlivet GLENLIVET 1989-2009 19yo The Single Malts of Scotland #9652 46% One of 382 bottles, Sherry Butt The aroma has a strong sherry character with plum jam, apricot jam, chocolate-covered orange, caramel, and a moist grain sensation from the depth. Upon drinking, it has a rich sweetness of concentrated apricot jam, chocolate, and a slightly thick texture with moist graininess and its umami. The finish is long-lasting. 【Good/Very Good】 From The Single Malts of Scotland by Specialty Drinks (TWE), Glenlivet 1989, 19 years old. While not reaching the level of a 'barrel sherry,' it has a strong sherry character with notable notes of plum and apricot jams, orange, chocolate, and caramel. The graininess is felt from the depth. When tasted, it still has a strong sherry character with a rich jam-like sweetness, but the graininess is also surprisingly well-defined, with its umami characteristics. No off-flavors were detected, and it feels like it was properly filled. As always, it's difficult to identify the distillery blindfolded, but considering the vintage, it has a good sherry character. It's a Glenlivet with a firmly but not overpowering sherry presence, and due to the added water, it's a pleasant drink that can be enjoyed with ease.
