KNOCKANDO KNOCKANDO 1989 21yo OB Master Reserve 43%
Bottle #ノッカンドゥ(KNOCKANDO)
It had a good taste, as expected from an official vatting. KNOCKANDO KNOCKANDO 1989 21yo OB Master Reserve 43% The aroma had a strong orange marmalade, apricot jam, caramel, strong oak, vanilla, rich notes. Upon drinking, it had a soft mouthfeel with sweetness from jams and light honey, some youthful grain notes and their umami, oak and slightly raw woody bitterness. The finish was quite rich. [Good/Very Good] This is an official bottling from KNOCKANDO, a Master Reserve aged 21 years since distillation in 1989. It was likely bottled around 2010. The aroma seemed to have both bourbon-like and light sherry-like flavors mixed together, giving a sense of an official vatting. Despite its aging, it was quite diverse in flavor. Upon tasting, there were some youthful grain notes and oak bitterness that stood out, but it also had the same fruity notes as the aroma, with a pleasant sweetness and rich flavor. The balanced and diverse aromas were also impressive, as expected from a vatting. It might even become more cohesive and delicious if left in the bottle for a little longer.
