Ardbeg 1990-2001 GM Spirit of Scotland #2766 50%
Bottle #アードベッグ(ARDBEG)
It had a strong sense of unity and was quite well-finished.
Ardbeg ARDBEG 1990-2001 GM Spirit of Scotland #2766 50%
The aroma features apricot, dry orange, sharp minerals, cheese, smoky fish and shellfish, with an overall cool character. On the palate, it has a slight viscosity and chewy texture, rich orange sweetness, briny notes, mild gravelly earthiness, sharp metallic sensations, and strong smoky peat with tar-like qualities. [Good/Very Good]
This bottling from GM's Spirit of Scotland includes Ardbeg distillates from 1990 and 2001, aged for approximately 11 years. It's from a period before Glenmorangie's acquisition in 1997, when production volumes were even lower than today. Likely from a refill sherry cask, it offers warm fruity notes and rich sweetness, while maintaining Ardbeg's characteristic sharp cool metallic qualities and slightly gravelly earthiness. It has a concentrated, full-bodied mouthfeel with strong smoky peat that carries tar-like nuances. As a water-added bottling aged for over 15 years, it's quite refined, with warmth and coolness coexisting harmoniously in this delicious Ardbeg.
