Upon drinking, there is a slightly aromatic spread with rich sweetness of orange and honey, solid oak, vanilla, meaty richness, and the umami of barley, with a creamy, long finish. [Good/Very Good] This exclusive GlenTauchers 1990 was bottled by GM for JIS. A new release from 2014, aged approximately 24 years. From the aroma, I sensed bourbon cask-like vanilla, green apple, citrus, and nuances of coconut and oak. Tasting it also revealed similar nuances but with a slightly meaty character, resulting in a rich and creamy profile. Despite being labeled as Refill American Hogshead, it carried a nuance reminiscent of having passed through a sherry cask. It had a decent level of maturity and complexity, with the grain character well-balanced. It was delicious. Recent GM bottlings for JIS have a consistent quality, with no duds.
