A delicious, short-aged Islay malt that doesn't cause drinking fatigue. Lagavulin LAGAVULIN (LOCHAN SOLAN) 1990 Scotch Malt Sales Celtic Cross 46% The aroma features unconcentrated apricot jam, lemon, heated apple, seafood stock, minerals and sea breeze, strong peat with a hint of iodine, light vanilla and cinnamon, young yet savory barley and cheese, concentrated texture with a chewy mouthfeel, grapefruit, light apricot tea, rich umami from barley and cheese, minerals, sweet and salty depth, with a long finish. [Good/Very Good] Bottled by Scotch Malt Sales as part of their Celtic Cross series, this is Lochan Solan 1990 (containing Lagavulin). I believe it was released around 2009. It exhibits rich fruitiness with heated nuances and a slightly young, savory barley character typical of Islay malt. The seaweed and seafood notes, along with a strong peatiness with pronounced iodine, are clearly present. The concentrated umami flavor has a satisfying chewy texture. Despite its strong aroma, it doesn't cause fatigue, likely due to dilution, yet maintains intense flavor depth. This type of whisky is so enjoyable that you might find yourself drinking multiple glasses without proper tasting, even in places like Yurakucho. #Lagavulin (LAGAVULIN)
